I have been deeply committed to the Upper Sandusky E.V. Schools for many years, so it is exciting to be the new Superintendent. I started my education career teaching 6th grade at Fostoria City Schools. I did that for three years before having triplets and taking a year off. After that, I was hired to teach Title 1 reading at Harpster Elementary. I then went on to teach 4th and then 5th grades at Union for the next 10 years before becoming a principal. For 17 years I have been the principal of two elementary buildings at a time - Marseilles & South. South & Union Elementary and South and East.
On a more personal note, my husband, Charles, and I have four grown children and two grandchildren all of whom we enjoy spending time with. In my spare time I also enjoy camping, hiking, bicycling, traveling and reading.
I want to thank all of the staff that has been diligently working this summer to prepare for the 2015-16 school year. Our custodial and maintenance staffs have cleaned, organized and repaired all buildings. The transportation staff has ensured our buses are ready to go. Food service staff has the kitchens ready to provide nutritious breakfasts and lunches. Teachers and administrators have been busy planning open houses and putting the final touches on rooms and the first week's lessons.
If you are a parent of a student in sports or band, you know that these students have also been working hard this summer to prepare for the upcoming season. Good luck to all the students participating in the fall sports and band season!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and is looking forward to a new year of learning.
